Now’s the time to buy a Retina MacBook Pro

" "

If you’ve been on the fence about buying a Retina MacBook Pro, or maybe just waiting for it to become available, the time to buy is now.

Nearly three months after launching its stunning 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro, Apple has finally caught up with demand as all Apple stores now say in-stock. The 15-inch ultra-sharp display Macbook can be priced as high as $2,800.

Demand for the Retina MacBook Pro, which Apple is advertising as its “best computer ever created,” had some people waiting more than a month to receive their laptop.

Some of that demand, as pointed out by MacRumors, was because of built-to-order configurations. Custom MacBooks can generally take a week longer to ship out.

It makes since that Apple has finally caught up with the initial demand, especially at this time. The company is heavily rumored to release a 13-inch version of its MacBook Pro with Retina display this fall.

The smaller Retina MacBook could be announced and possible released alongside the iPhone 5, which is being announced on Sept. 12 and being released nine days later on Sept. 21.

A 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro is expected to be priced between $1,199 and $1,299 for the base model and could reach as high as $2,000 for more powerful configurations. The 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro is clearly designed for the professionals market (photographers, graphic designers, etc.), but it’s unclear which market a 13-inch version would fit under.

Can Apple turn its Retina MacBook Pro into a more consumer-friendly product, as opposed to a prosumer product?

If you’re looking to buy a MacBook Pro with Retina display, check multiple websites and authorized Apple retail stores. At places like Best Buy and MacMall, you can generally get anywhere from $50 to $150 off the final price.

Of course, if you love the feeling of walking into an Apple Store and leaving with your new laptop to show off to the world, that’s also an option.
